Caro Au Pair,

Welcome to our family! This is an exciting time for us as we've just welcomed our little bundle of joy to the family. We live in Henderson, Nevada which is a suburb outside Las Vegas. Nevada is located just east of California and is known as the silver state.

Las Vegas is one of the most exciting cities in the entertainment world, with non-stop entertainment from music, to magic to casinos, Las Vegas provides something for everyone. On the flip side, just outside of Las Vegas, there is a beautiful outdoor space to explore with everything from hiking to ATV rides in the desert. Nevada is also only a few hours drive from the Grand Canyon.

My name is Paul, my wife is Shirene, our beautiful baby boy is Christian, and we have a cat named Pookie. We're originally from South Africa but settled in the United States 8 years ago. Christian is a happy, loving, fussy baby who loves to smile and laugh.

I work 5 days a week as a chef and my wife works from home. Most of those are early shifts and one late. A typical day for you would be looking after Christian from 7am to 4pm while I'm at work and shirene is working. This includes light housework when he is asleep. You will generally get 2 full days off, but ocassionally it will be 1.5 days. We are less than 20 miles from the University of Nevada where you could take some of your classes. There are also a few community colleges around. We will provide a public transit pass if you need one.

Our ideal au pair is someone who will expose Christian to a new culture and language in order to enrich his upbringing while providing necessary childcare. Christian is still very young so we prefer someone who is very responsible. We live near Las Vegas but we don't want someone who enjoys gambling, partying, drinking, and smoking. Although the pandemic has slowed down across the world we still practice the safety precautions because Christian is so young.

We have to offer our culture, our language, our food, and our hospitality in a wonderful, safe city close to the heart and soul of the entertainment industry.
