My name is Wankuru, I am 22 years old and I come from Tanzania. I am a law graduate, and I am excited about the opportunity to become an au pair, meet a wonderful host family, experience a new culture and, most importantly, become someone your children can feel comfortable, safe and happy around.
I believe I would make a great babysitter because caring for children has been part of my life from a young age. Since I was around 12 years old, my parents and relatives have trusted me to look after my younger siblings and other children in our family. These experiences taught me how to be patient, responsible, attentive and dependable when caring for children. They also helped me understand that every child has their own personality, needs and way of expressing themselves.
I enjoy spending time with children and would be happy to play with them, read stories, help with homework, prepare simple meals, accompany them to activities, help with their daily routines and make sure they are safe and comfortable. I believe childcare is not only about watching children, but also about giving them attention, encouraging them, listening to them and creating a positive environment where they can learn and grow.
I am a calm, caring, respectful and trustworthy person. I understand that parents have their own routines, rules and parenting styles, and I am willing to learn and follow them. Communication is also very important to me, so I would always keep my host family informed and make sure we understand each other’s expectations.
Outside of childcare, I enjoy reading, travelling and learning about different cultures. I would love to share my Tanzanian culture and traditions with my host family while also learning about their way of life.
I am really looking forward to meeting my future host family, getting to know the children and becoming a positive part of their everyday lives. I hope to build a relationship with my host family based on trust, respect, communication and, of course, lots of happy memories! 😊❤️
