Dear host family,

My name is Sofiia, I’m 19 years old, originally from Russia, and currently living and studying in Singapore.

A little about me:
By nature, I’m a calm, organized and responsible person. I love an active lifestyle: I ride my bike a lot, swim well, and enjoy reading, solving puzzles and doing creative things. I also have experience living abroad: before Singapore, I lived in China for a year, and I’ve traveled to South Korea and Turkey. This taught me to adapt quickly to new places, respect different cultures and stay organized. My native language is Russian, I speak English and a little Chinese.

My experience with babies and children:
I have about a year of experience caring for babies, six months each with two families. One baby was only three months old when I started. I bottle-fed, changed diapers, swaddled, bathed, put the baby to sleep, went on walks and kept track of the sleep schedule. I know the hygiene and safety rules for newborn care, and I’m happy to take a first aid course before I arrive.

I also helped take care of my younger twin brother and sister from a very early age, and I worked as a nanny assistant for a year and a half with children aged 3 to 8. I can provide references.

I know how much attention, patience and energy kids need, from feeding and naps to homework, simple meals, walks, games and bedtime. I feel confident with all of this.

I easily adapt to a child’s personality:

If your child is very active, I’ll happily keep up with them and play outside together.
If they are calmer, we can read books, watch educational cartoons, do puzzles, origami and other quiet activities.

I want to be upfront that I don’t have a driver’s license yet. If you need one, I’m ready to get it as quickly as possible after I arrive in the US, and I can start preparing for the theory test in advance. And since I’m in Singapore, I can get my visa quickly if you need help soon.
