Hi,

I am an Indonesian woman, 39 years old, with experience caring for two boys (my nephews) voluntarily from the time they were 1 to 10 years old (2016-now). I was taking care of them 7 am - 6 pm, their parents would picked them up after works.

My previous job is English to Indonesian translator for patent field for 10 years. So, I'm used to speak English for conversation or work-related.
Currently, I'm changing my job from computer-related job to paid-nanny.


Nanny related experiences (non-professional):
1. Nanny for my 2 nephews since they were 1 year old (born 2015 and 2017) up until now (elementary school 5th grade and 3rd grade)
a. Changed diapers and bathing them.
b. Feed them with healthy meals and snack between main meals; and give them water at all times so they drink enough.
c. While doing another chore/translation job, I kept them close to me in the same room (in visible and audible distance) and let them play and explore toys or room by themselves. I prefer toys that suitable to their age and proper size.
*As for the new nanny job, I can certainly be more flexible in accompanying them during their activities.
d. When I took a 20-minute break or more from translation work, I was playing with them (like playing throw and catch with a light ball, dancing along to children's videos, playing hide and seek).

e. Accompany them during their nap until they fall asleep.
I also took a break when they’re sleeping to charge my energy and ready when they were waking up.
f. Sometimes in the morning (when the air is still clean and cool here) or in the afternoon after my translation work is done (when the temperature is calmer), I will carry them (because we don't have a stroller) outside for a walk around the house (sometimes we pass neighbours and greet them) or play on the terrace (we don't have a big yard, but our small terrace is shady enough with rambutan tree).
I let them get used to the air and atmosphere outside the house.
In my opinion, staying at home too long can makes you feel stuffy.
g. When both of them reached school age, I often took them to school (by motorcycle).
h. I love them and make sure I am there for them, while still instilling values ??of discipline in them.
